Nitrites are lethal, I work at a freshwater fish store I know what nitrite and nitrates are. That's why I was so worried, but I have read probably 30 different posts across multiple forums saying nitrites aren't nearly as bad as they are in fresh they can be lethal but in a fish only saltwater...
It could be that because I had to set it up on the fly as I do not run a qt normally but now I'm going to. I read many things online that lower amounts of nitrite in salt water aren't as big of worry as in fresh water? Is this true? I'm still doing daily water changes to be safe.
So I have a 180 gallon tank that had 2 1" clown fish and a emporer angel, I recently ordered a sohal tang and powder blue tang and had them shipped in when they arrived they were at 54 degrees and the powder blue was barely alive I acclimated them very slowly and they survived. But within a day...
Sensitive as in fish companions or sensitive on its tank? The tanks a 6ft tank so I thought most tangs are okay in that other than larger ones. Also on the emporer this is not a long term home this is going to be a 2 year tank until we are in our new house where I can set up a larger 200+ tank...
Could you get away with a
Achilles tang
Hippo Tang
Emporer angel
Zebra moray eel
In a 120gallon for 2 years if they are all bought at 2inches or under?
Has anyone ever owned a Sohal tang? If you have how are they personality wise, are they fun fish to watch? Would they be okay with an emporer angel and a sailfin?
250 gallons, and I mean somewhat reef safe being that I don't mind if it picks at corals and eats some things but I don't want a fish that eats absolutely everything in site? Wouldn't that not be somewhat reef safe....?
