- I have a small oscar now that I am in the process of building a custom stand for and put him in a 55 gal aquarium. I have built my own canister filter for his tank. I also have started my own breeder system. I had my first platy fry a couple weeks ago(Dec 20, '12) with 8 babies. I got started with my wife buying a tank and then I took over and it grew into what I have today
