Filtration problem in 30" deep (top to bottom!) aquariu

I ended up going with the Hagen AquaClear 110 (power head) and it seems to be doing the job very well. I've also become a bit more conscientous about maintenance and using filter floss inside my xP3 filter now. Thanks for all the suggestions!

Do you keep Tropheus? What variants? What setup & tankma

Fish were 2.5" or so, and approx. two years old, according to the previous owner. I only had them about 4 months. Sold for $125 CA ($109 US) to a fellow local collector who is returning to Tropheus after a few years away from them. Signature updated for my current stock of fish. :)

Filtration problem in 30" deep (top to bottom!) aquariu

CGGorman: So where does one install a powerhead? I've never even seen one! 8O Is the "nozzle" or whatever adjustable? I have a sand substrate so this may be something to keep in mind?

Filtration problem in 30" deep (top to bottom!) aquariu

I've had a major issue with my 150-gallon, 48" x 24" footprint, 30" deep (top to bottom!) aquarium. A LOT of debris is accumulating in various corners and areas around the substrate. I run a Rena Filstar xP3 *and* 3 HydroSponge #3 sponge filters, but upon water change there is TONS of debris...

Lighting Issue for 150-gallon, 30" deep, glass flip-lid

I ended up going with the "Lithonia Lighting, 4 ft., 2 lt." model shop light, using 2 x 48", 40-watt, Philips "DayLight Deluxe" tubes. It uses T-12 bulbs which is going to set off bells and whistles for those who told me to go with T-8, but oh well. When I left the message for my girlfriend at...

Lighting Issue for 150-gallon, 30" deep, glass flip-lid

I was going to go 24" since they would fit onto the glass instead of sitting on the centre "brace" of the black trim (see top of tank), but I have been convinced on a local forum to go with a 48" ballast and 40-watt bulbs since they 2 x 40-watt bulbs will give more light than the 4 x 20-watt bulbs.

PhotoBucket "thumbnail" code will not work on this

The premises behind a "clickable" link in a phpBB post is comprised of two parts: 1. A "Target URL" --> What document will open when a link is clicked; and 2. A "Target Mask" --> Something "pretty" to cover the the "http://www..." link. CREATING A CLICKABLE TEXT LINK [URL =...

Update: The Infamous Zebra Pl*co [L-046] colony from AquaBid

These fish are currently banned from export from Brazil. The issue in this case was ensuring the survivial of all fishes and assuring that the buyer took all precautions to ensure they travelled from Manitoba to North Carolina with fatalities.
