The tank is only just beginning to cycle, which is why you are at 4,0,0 and for Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate. It could easily be what killed the Platy too. Personally as it's such a small tank, which will make it harder to cycle, I would take the fish back and cycle it without. An Angelfish...
