Now that I have ICH I'm raising the temp in my planted tank....But fer some reason I remember hearing salt helped as well??? so I also put in the recommended dose of freshwater aquarium salt as well. Does anyone have recommendations on this??? Thanks
I would just like to say thanks to Tom Barr for clearing some things up with the EI dosing and PO4 levels. After reading this post I decided to crank up the CO2 and get on board. 8) Thanks Tom!!
I think the plants will take off with all the gear that I've upgraded to (I won't tell the boss exactly what the total cost was though :lol: ). The tank is a 55 gal with a coralife 260 watt (130watts at 10,000k 130 watts at 6700k), pressurized CO2 sys, eco complete substrate and greg watson...
I just recieved my new plants from freshwater aquarium plants and now I have the aquarium freshly planted. I guess this is when the fun truly starts. I'll keep you all posted on the progress/stumbling blocks. I think when it fills out in a couple of weeks it will look good. Check out the pics
I noticed the same thing with my tank. I've also tried the EI dosing and at the end of the week my PO4 was at 3(way too high). Since then I've cut out the PO4 dosing and my algae (growing like a beard at the edge of the leaves) seems to have cleared.
I'd have to agree with push350z a hob filter is the way to go for white noise. If you very the water level in the tank you will get your correct amount of water noise your looking for. Again push350z is right on the money with an air pump for a nice little hum. I found the aqua filter is a...
You might want to upgrade to a canister filter first to cut down on water surface agitation then upgrade the co2 next. The money you save by making your own diffuser you can invest in the filter. :idea:
