Once Angelfish eggs have hatched and the babies are swimming around should you separate the parents and the babies? I've heard 2 stories and I don't know what to believe. I've heard no because they parent them and I heard yes because they eat them. Thanks!
Open sore. it's beginning to close up though. It looks like the melafix and the salt etc are helping. Hopefully he'll be ok in a week or two and can go back home to the 55.
well, for the last two weeks I was in Washington D. C. for work and I come home and my fish tanks have been... well... frankly a nightmare. Two fish died while I was gone and yesterday I noticed one of my zebra danios has a huge red sore on his side. It looks almost like a canker sore on humans...
Well, there are caves etc in the tank and I haven't seen any agression towards my clown plecos... but all 3 of my pitbull plecos are missing their fins and I saw them go after my cory cat. =/
:( Crap. Ok. And I can't get up there tomorrow :( it's an hour away and I have to take my dad to the airport :( Is there anything i can do w/ them till sunday? i hope they take them back
*UPDATE*
Alright well, I caught them both and put them in breeders nets so that they can't kill anything...
Alright,
well, I've had NUMEROUS issues with my big tank in the past. Basically I had water issues and all the fish I put in it died. I finally went to this very good but very expensive fish store near my work because they seem the best educated. It took ~3 months... but I finally got my water...
I would be careful w/ the shark. i've heard they get much larger than youre saying there. That pleco is a bushy-nosed pleco and he will stay small and will likely do rather well in the tank. The same w/ the cory cat, but you have to remember that they are schooling fish and prefer to be in large...
Nah, different color gravel. otherwise I woulda just spread it around. I was getting tired of the color anyway. lol I could leave both filters on for now. but when I move I was hoping to set up another tank and that's my "spare" filter. It's only a 20 gallon and it has enough filtration on it...
Alright, I just finished setting up the other tank. it took forever to clean and I left it out on the porch for about an hour filled w/ water to make sure I don't have repeat leak situation. I put my fish into a big bucket and emptied out the rest of the water in the leaking tank and moved it...
yeah, that's what I was thinking. I might put the gravel in a container and put it in the bottom. I actually found another tank in my basement that's big enough so now I'm in the process of cleaning it out and praying it has no leaks. I got it from someone used. =/ Wish me luck!
I woke up this morning to find that my corner tank (my 12 gal) is leaking pretty quickly. The only other tanks I have are a couple ten gallons and one 15 gallon w/ a large crack in the back which doesn't leak, but after this I'm thinkin' prolly don't want to risk it. I'm going to go out and get...
I really recommend you get your own liquid test kit. As a former petsmart employee I can tell ya that the employees don't always know what's going on w/ the tests or the results and at the one I worked in at least we used the dip stick things which are far less accurate than the drops. For now...
