    Chicago area stores?

I'm heading to Chicago (along the turnpike) and was looking at stopping by a few stores while I'm there. Does anyone have a list of freshwater or marine stores in the area and along my way? Any store will do, whether it's a favorite or just one you stopped by once. I prefer marine but hey, I...

Lighting question, will upgrading do much here?

I'd do #1. It can't be that much of a pain to move a very light fixture around. Not like they weigh 20lbs or anything. Plus at 4.5" wide, not like they are taking up a huge amount of room either. Buddy runs two of them over his 55g and loves the light. Cheaper to buy two 2x39w than one 4x39w...

    When am I coral ready??

There has to be some other places in Cali to order from, too many wholesalers out there not to have an online shop that is credible. http://www.reefermadness.us/ Never heard a bad thing about them. I've been considering ordering from them myself if my transshipment doesn't come through.

    Badis badis (sp. scarlet)

Back from the dead.....again! I have a chance to pick up a few of these. I was just wondering if anyone here has had success in breeding them? Live food is not too much of an issue. I can't get my hands on blackworms but hatching brine for them is easy enough.

    New MH Lighting

Either use the clip-on style lights or a DIY 70w hanging style. Pretty easy to wire up.

    Acans looking pretty bad.

I did an iodine dip today, 15 drops of Lugols in 1/2g of tank water. Let the coral sit for 15 minutes. I'm going to try and frag it tomorrow.

    DT's Live Phytoplankton

To me a new bottle stinks a little. If you've ever smelled a bad bottle of DT's you'll never forget the difference between the two.

About to switch over to Reef...a few questions.

Sometimes anemones will move themselves out of light and acclimate themselves to light as they see fit. This can be fast or slow depending on the anemone. Keep an eye on the 6-Line as they seem to either be great community fish or complete disasters. I've seen them go both ways. Have you...

    Acans looking pretty bad.

Recently I received some corals in the mail and the only damaged one was this Acan Echinata piece. The box had been dropped and I fear this Acan took the brunt of the force. What can I do to keep this coral from loosing all tissue and dying completely? Any tips? Thank you.

Beautiful fish. Too bad I just tore down four of my freshwater tanks. Great prices as well.

    Easy Corals

Some people consider Xenia a pest coral believe it or not. They keep it in their sumps of all places! I know you said mushrooms don't tickle your fancy but what about Ricordias? They are easy to keep and very colorful. With the 96w fixture it really expands what you can keep. Some LPS, tons...
