and if they are anything like angel fish... angels both male and female have breeding tubes only they are different shapes/sizes... so wouldn't they both have breeding tubes .. the male to deposit sperm and the female to deposit eggs?
or if you have a planted tank you don't have to vacuum at all ;) i haven't vacuumed mine for about 2 years now.. just water changes and cleaning the filter and the occasional plant trimming. of course i think the aquaclear filter keeps the bottom pretty clean

i absolutely love sand since i tried it in my little 12 gallon. The only problem is light colored sand shows a lot of algae i think when i get my next big tank i will buy some dark sand.
they say they are 'peaceful' but just a warning from experience, they WILL eat anything that will fit in their mouth. They wont pick on other fish but i had one in a 55 gallon and he ate all the guppies... just swallowed them whole.
