Try soaking the food in straight up Metronidazole and feeding it. Its best to treat it internally if it is parasites.

I agree with the above poster that it is probably a water quality issue. I would get a test kit, ASAP. IMHO it is one of the most important tools of the trade.
I see that you're feeding them regular flakes. My Silver Dollars are finicky eaters too. Silver Dollars are herbivores so...
My best guess would be that your fish is getting injured. Maybe your goldfish are just trying to establish a pecking order. I would take out the objects and see if your fish is still losing scales.
Secondly, pleccos will latch on to goldfish. They are nocturnal so maybe your plecco is latching...

Definitely, not normal. Sounds like an injury of some kind. Do you have any sharp objects in your aquarium? Is your fish rubbing against rocks or other objects?
Do you happen to have a plecco in your tank? Sometimes, they'll latch on to goldfish.
My GT started losing his color yesterday. He suddenly looks very pale. He also seems to be "gasping". His belly seems slightly bloated and he has some white/translucent stringy stool hanging out.
He is in a 120g with 3 tinfoils and a plecco who are all healthy.
