    Stocking opinions?

Thanks for the input! Yes, I would probably wait until it's been running at least a month to add anything other than the tetras and corys. I'll be using a new 406 filter as well as a 206 from a pre-established tank for an instant cycle and will have that run at least a week before actually...

    Stocking opinions?

I have a 60 Gal I'm going to be working on setting up slowly over the next few months. I'm a little too eager when I get a new tank and like to plan out as much as I can as soon as I can so if I can get input on my stalk that'd be awesome! 6 boesemans rainbowfish 2 Bolivian rams 6 Bronze Corys...

    Brackish Plants?

I have a small brackish tanks and I actually have a wide assortment of plants for such a small tank. As long as the plants are introduced slowly to the new conditions of fresh to brackish, water sprite, micro sword, dwarf sag, java moss, java fern, anubias (I have a nana, and a few others that...

    Stocking my 36 gallon

id be careful with the gobys. most petstores carry both golden banded gobys and bumblebees and sell them as the same fish, and they are very hard to tell apart if you dont know what youre looking for. both species are brackish, one just does better in fresh than the other. they are also very...

    DIY CO2 issues

i think ive got it working. i changed out the yeast and added a bit more than usual. i shook it up and gave it a good squeeze and very nice fine bubbles are finally comming out. i had given the ceramic plate a good rubbing to open pores that may have been clogged with dust and moved the...

    DIY CO2 issues

Ive listened for leaks. I tried soapy water on the connection point on the cap and around the cap rim itself. Also I cant smell the yeast oder unless I release pressure manually. Would there be any other way to check?

    DIY CO2 issues

I have a small little 6 gal fluval edge. Its about 14 inches deep. Ive looked for leaks and I cant find any. I plugged the end of the tubing tight and squeezed the bottle and nothing leaks anywhere that I can find. I moved the diffuser up a bit. Its about halfway but nothings changed so far.

    DIY CO2 issues

I'm sorry for the poor quality and awkward photos, its actually hard to get a clear photo because of its positioning and my deco. This is the diffuser that I have now. http://www.jlaquatics.com/product/gs-00562/Waterplant+3+in+1+CO2+Diffuser+(Small).html My setup doesn't leak as far as I know...

    Bumblebee Goby Feeding

To sex them can be hard if you only have a few. The males are thinner but have brighter colours, and females are rounder. If they're alone in a community tank they do tend to sit around and hide. That also could be part of your feeding issue. When in a large group of they're own kind they get...

    DIY CO2 issues

I'm very new to CO2 injections and I'm not sure its working properly. I have a simple yeast rig set up with Waterplant 3 in 1 CO2 Diffuser and nothing is happening. I KNOW there's at least some pressure in the rig. The bottle is extremely firm (from CO2) and it's very well sealed. The diffuser...

    Bumblebee Goby Feeding

Basically you look at their bands. There are two types of gobys that look very similar. There is the actual Bumblebee Goby that does well in fresh water (but does best in brackish), These guys have four solid unbroken black bands. Then there are the Golden Banded Gobys. These little guys are...

    Stocking input?

Yeah I just realized that with the Goby after doing more research. The pleco's uprooted several of my water sprites and smaller plants to the point of tearing the roots and damaging them. I'm highly considering taking him back, along with the rosboras to set up a brackish tank with a few more...
