    Ro Water mix?

I have a rubber maid 35 gallon trash can in my laundry room where I hooked up my ro/di. I drilled a hole in the lid just big enough for the ro/di out put line. I bought a pump that I use only for the pure water along with 10' of clear tubbing. I use the pump and tubing to transfer the water...

What is needed in starting a saltwater 'fish only' tank?

Yes you need ro/di water. Either bought or made at home with an ro/di system. Other things you need are salt, a refractometer to measure the salinity. Test kits to measure ammonia nitrates and nitrites. Power heads for water movement. Live rock and live sand are recommended. Caniater...

    thermometer question

I have an aquacontroller 3 with temp probe, the dt has one of those cheap color change temp things on the side. I noticed that my heaters were not kicking on at the right temps per my program. So I bought 3 digital temp probes. Put one in the dt and one in the sump with my ac3 temp probe. I...

    Tips on mixing water

I make all my saltwater for water changes in a 10 gallon aquarium. I have a heater and 2 power heads. I don't think you can rush it. I let it sit at least overnight. The only thing you might be able to do is add a little salt at a time

    Set up

If your running a sump I would put a filter sock on the drain line but keep the power heads off until it settles. You can wait a few days before you start testing but depending on the size of the tank, your set up, amount of live rock and sand, what your using for ammonia source, etc. you...

    Drilling tanks

There are some videos on YouTube. You need a diamond tip hole saw. Most people make a dam around where you are drilling to hold water. Then just go slow. Personally I have not done this, it was just what I saw from te videos

    taotonic mounting question

It's under the saltwater reef aquaria section. The post is title mounting ideas for taotronic LEDs. They did not come with brackets. It comes with wires and hooks. I bought 4 shelf brackets and just mounted them to the wall. Here's a pic of what it looks like

    Will this work?

You could...but that's one hell of a point of failure. Do you want to risk it all draining? I'd consider buying or trading for a new tank that isn't drilled!

    40 gal sump question

The main concern would be how much water height you need for the return and skimmer.

Help with figuring out what size return pump i need.

Regardless of the size you get I would recommend the ball valve so you can dial it in or as someone else said if you have to shut it down.
