I've been doing the aquarium thing for about three years now and have never seen fry. I was feeding last night and noticed three of these little guys swimming around. I have no idea what which fish they belong to. As far as I could tell, none of my fish looked pregnant.

My tank says I'm obsessed with Avatar.

You might want to rethink those tiger barbs in the 5 gallon. I have 5 in a 25 gallon, and even that seems too small for them at times. But nice looking tanks.

I'd recommended turning your heater way up and leaving the lights off.

I'd recommend keeping the lights off and turning your heater up as high as it will go. Are you adding ammonia?

I still think changing my filter was necessary though, it was restricting serious water flow, even after violent shaking in a water bucket. I didn't just get a new pad yesterday, I got a whole new filtration system (an aqua clear 30 gallon one). So I took filter media out of a tank that's been...

Now this is where get confused. Some people tell me not to change the pads, some tell the opposite :confused:

Aww, that discouraging. Just last night I pulled one of the plants out of the substrate, and to my surprise it had a root about 3 inches long that wasn't there 2 weeks ago. I was hoping that was a good sign.

Well right now my filter is churning water at full speed, you think I should back it off a bit?

So I'm still not having much luck. I purchased an aqua clear filter this morning and got that up and running. I did three 60% water changes throughout the day and my water still looks like this .... This is what it looked like 3 days ago...
