If you really want to get rid of the syrofoam spray acetone on it from a spray bottle. It will melt away. Make sure you leave some on the sides and top and bottom so you can attach it to the back and it won't allow your fish to get in behind it.

Tonight we went out and bought 6 cherry shrimp and some glass coloured jewels. I lit the bottom of the bowl with a LED light and it makes the substrate and shrimp come alive. These little fellas are pretty cool. Thanks for pointing us in this direction.

It was cheap and easy. That works for me every time. I didn't have a light for my small tank and I found this and couldn't turn it down. I would imagine it would work for plants in a smaller tank that isn't too deep. It is bright all the way to the bottom.
