As far as I'm aware it's nothing to worry about (I normally get it on my suction cups) and I'm sure it's calcium. Hopefully someone can confirm (or correct) for you tho

Picking up a 240L 4 feet wide tank next week.
I would like to try start a south American Cichlid community. But getting mixed messages every where I look in regards to compatibility.
Any suggestions or advice would be great. (I also have 2 BN catfish to go in)

I am upgrading my tank to 240L 4ft wide next week. I currently have a group of BN Catfish and a breeding pair of Jewel Cichlids (have just spawned) I was originally going to keep the stock for my new tank and add 6 tiger barbs. However after witnessing 1st hand the stress the jewels put there...
Ok hadnt seen them before they do look cool! My new tank will be 240l (around 55g i think) and 4 feet long. Think that would be big enough to house both?

I currently have a 96L tank housing; 1 danio zebra, 1 BN catfish and 5 Jewel Cichlids. Soon I will be upgrading to the Fluval Roma 240 (so excited) and was wondering the best way to switch over everything. What I was thinking I would do is the following. Use as much water from the current tank...
So iv changed my mind on the tank. Getting a Fluval Roma 240 (so excited) I have read you can keep them with other similar size African Cichlids. Ever tried that?

Getting a new tank next month, narrowed it down to those 2. Anybody got/had iva of them and have any reviews? Or even heard anything?
Also if anyone has iva I would really appreciate a measurement from lid of tank to the floor (including cabinet) as I'm limited here but all websites give me...
Yeah, their all still fairly small. Been waiting to see if 2 pair off so I can just keep the pair. As for the tank size, iv just seen one I really like for a good price thats why it's not a huge upgrade. However if I find a bigger tank at a good deal in the mean time I'll go for it!

Yeah, it also depends on the fish you want to keep, dimensions of tank and pipework (if any) again not 100% sure so worth double checking
