Should I treat for fin rot in the display tank or try to catch him and put him in the q tank. He is a schooling fish and I wonder about the stress of catching him and keeping him alone in the q tank. I never know what to do in these situations.
I have 6 cories. A few days ago I saw that one of the cories barbells are completely worn away. He was still swimming around and eating. Now, he just lays at the bottom and I can’t tell if he is eating or not. I’m not sure how he lost his barbells. I’m not sure what to do about it.

The fry are eating up a storm and acting naturally... they did have a minor case of ich that took about 10 days to clear up, but nothing in the last 2 weeks.
My platy fry has a long string of brown poop that hangs down and it takes anywhere from 5 minutes and much longer for the poop to fall down. Is this a cause for concern? Is he constipated? I feed them 2x a day, 7am & 7 pm. A tiny pinch of excellent quality flake in the am and brine shrimp in...

My tank is fully cycled and awaiting the 4 platy fye to grow big enough to move to the 5 gallon grow out tank. How do I keep the cycle going without fish? I used brine shrimp in a media bag to create the waste needed to cycle the tank. Should I just continue to use a little brine shrimp?
Thanks.
You don’t need to continue dozing with ammonia. Don’t do a water change until your tank is fully cycled. Fully cycled means you have 0 ppm (parts per million) of ammonia which you are approaching. Your nitrite is rising because the beneficial bacteria is converting it to nitrite. Your tanked is...
I was just thinking that too. My quarantine tank is fully cycled!! It’s a challenge to figure out which is male and female at my LFS. So I think it’s a crap shoot as to what you get. It’s easy to say females are fatter (now this is fat shaming the girl fish), but picking out the right sex as...
