Stocking Ideas For 135gal Freshwater Tank

I've been keeping african cichlids in my 135gal tank for about 10 years now and I've decided to switch things up. I now have a tank that has no fish in it and am looking to restock it with something besides mbuna african cichlids. I'm wide open to suggestions. I'm looking for some schooling...

    75gal african cichlid tank

as long as you got good filtration and maintain it, 20-25 fish in a 75 is no problem especially with demonsani...they are dwarf cichlids only grow to about 2-2.5". I have 16 in a 55 gal and have no problems what so ever.

    75gal african cichlid tank

You can do alot with a 75gal with mbuna. If you like acei's a would do about 7 in that size tank. They love to school and will swim around all of the tank. If you really want demosani's get a lot. The need to be in big numbers since they will pick on each other constantly, like 12-15 in a 75...

What FW fish for taking care of my brown algae problem?

I think Bristle-nosed (bushy nosed) plecos will take care of the brown algae. They only grow to a few inches too so they are small. The brown algae will turn to green eventually, is the tank fairly new?

    constipated cichlids

Are they females and over 2.5" long?? Sometimes when a female is ready to breed, their females part becomes swollen to get ready for releasing eggs. I just went through this last week with my red zebra. she was swollen and started dropping eggs when chased.

yellow lab and red jewel cichlids seeking addition

It does matter when dealing with mbuna, mixing different african speicies is usually not a good idea unless you get some of the calmer speicies together. I agree with Fishlover14, remove one or the other. But skip out on getting a socolofi, they can be very terriotorial when adult and will...

    Couple of Mbuna questions

Mbuna is pronounced like this: um-boo-na if you are moving all fish to the 125 gal then you can pretty much get what you want. But in the 29gal it will be a little tougher to pick fish if they are going to be in there for 6-8 months. For a 29 gal, one group (1 male and 3 or 4 females) of the...
