I've just noticed these on the glass at the back of my tank!! I didn't think Severums would lay eggs on glass but flat rock... Now these are brownish in color, would that mean they are fertilized?

Haven't sexed the fish... Not really sure how to. Have another gol severum that is much more full in color, guessing that's the male...

Just curios, got home from work and found this. Have noticed that this particular gold severum and my green severum have suddenly become territorial. Have they paired and started breeding?

Thanks heaps jlk and mummaoftwo. Have been dosing QT with Pimafix and seems to have stopped whatever it is from spreading but will definitely check out website and LFS(has blue planet range) for any med's if this conditions gets worse. Fingers crossed it doesn't buy at least now I have a backup.

I'm in Australia. I'm guessing he is going to need some kind of antibiotic, any suggestions??

To be honest, it looks like a really bad case of eczema but a fish version of it.... The top bit looks scabby that doesn't want to heal and down the sides it looks fury almost like the scales are rotting.... :-(

I would really consider using stability to get your levels down and controlled so you can get to the fun stuff and enjoy watching the personalities develop in your fish :) from what I know about stress zime is that this has been marketed for when you are moving fish or introducing new fish into...

No worries ? I would still probably consider taking it out of the community tank and into a QT just for observation and have melafix & pimafix on hand just in case the little marks get bigger and you need to treat fairly quickly for bacterial or fungal infection.

How are your water parameters? Apart from the red on the body, are there any lesions, white spots or "mould like" spots visible on scales or mouth? If unsure should put in a quarantine tank and look at either getting bacterial/fungal treatment in place for your barb. Have you notice any change...
