you're better off not unless you put them in a 5 gallon or more. 2.5 is too little for any fish to thrive, yes even bettas. the snail will just take away more space and release more ammonia. snails are great tankmates for bettas, but not in that size tank.

Is there any way to disinfect a marimo moss ball? I had it in a tank with one of my bettas which got sick and died. I've had the thing forever and would hate to just throw it away. is there anything i can do to make sure it doesn't spread any unwanted bacteria to any other fish?

My goldfish has a sort of mouth problem. It's been weeks. I was treating it and it completely went away..... and then came back twice as bad. his mouth is red and swollen. I had been doing 50% water changes and treating with melafix, and it got better. so i'm assuming its a bacteria problem...

if the molly is pregnant and you would like to keep the babies, get a breeder box. they hang on the side and can house the babies so they don't get eaten. if you don't want them, just leave her where she is, they'll get gobbled up pretty quick.

that's a good question, personally i say yes. my sick betta is in a 10 gallon tank so im doing 50% changes every two weeks while medicating with the copper. just be sure to add the stuff to the new water before you put it in the tank!

actually for this tank specifically, it's for a turtle. i just happen to have a turtleclean canister filter and i was considering replacing the internal filter with it because it makes so much noise. although if that one works out, i may end up getting a canister filter for my 40 gallon...

my internal filter is a whisper 20i and it keeps the tank very clean. i don't think i need to run both because overall, his tank is pretty clean and i gravel vac it at least twice a month, usually more. i try to do it every week.
