    Diggin' Damsel??

I have a Blue Devil Damsel that LOVES to dig. She digs and digs and digs and digs... she uses the method of backing her tail up to the spot she wants to dig, and then turns the jets on. Very entertaining to watch. I also periodically undo the digging she does, because after about every week...

    copper

I bought some of that for an ich problem I had a couple months ago. My fish were going down hill fast, and I had to have a treatment NOW. Since the situation was deteriorating so rapidly, I wanted a copper treatment, since (from what I've read) it's the only sure cure. I didn't want to chance...

    More LR Help

Also, do you spray pesticides in your garage? I try not to spray anything inside the house, so I nuke the garage and the perimeter of the house to keep bugs from getting in the house in the first place. I don't keep any of my aquarium stuff in the garage as a result.

OT: Couldn't believe how close he let me get...

Really, really cool... That's the kind of shot I'm always looking for. I'm always running in to get my camera only to find that there's nothing to take a picture of when I get back out. hehe gj.

    Aquarium Size vs. Fish Growth

That's a lot of fish! Isn't it 1 inch per 5 gallons?

Should my first fish be quarentined?

What fishfreek said... I got burned by that exact same scenerio, and ended up having to dose my main tank with copper, which if you don't know will kill inverts for a long time after you are done with the treatment. It's very very hard to get rid of the copper. 8O

    question...

My blue damsel does that. Any time she is in the dark (whether it be that the room is dark, or she goes into her hidey-hole), she turns almost black. Whenever she comes out of the dark, she turns electric blue in 1 to 2 seconds.

    Where in Texas are you?

BTW, the 3 college years I spent out of Houston were spent going to OU.

    Where in Texas are you?

Born in Oklahoma, but moved to Houston when I was 3 days old. :D I've been here ever since (except for 3 of my college years). I grew up on the west side of Houston, and now live on the north side (Spring).

    How do clownfish sleep?

I've had my 2 false perc clowns for about a month now, and they still freak me out almost every night. If most of the lights in the house have been out for about an hour, I can find them sleeping in all kinds of weird ways... all of which make them look as if they are either dead or sick. The...

    PH question

Actually, you can have a buffer that buffers for acid or base. A buffer just helps hold a certain pH, but depending on what the buffer is, it will buffer for a different pH.

    Nitrite Test Unit Conversion

    That would be correct.

    Chemistry Challenge

One more thing... If it comes down to it, I work at a chemical research facility, and may be able to get some tests run for you. May... I'll check.

    Chemistry Challenge

Don't dismiss the stray voltage theory. That one sounds very likely to me. Calcium ions will be attracted to the negative charge of a cathode, and deposit on it. I see that you have several tanks, and am assuming that you would have some extra equipment lying around. If that assumption is...

To Scoop or Not to Scoop…

No, no crabs yet. I'm planning on it, but this is a new tank, and I'm trying to add slowly. They will be my next purchase. I'm not expert at judging how much they will eat yet, so about every other time I feed them, I end up giving them too much. (Placing some blame on the fish who aren't...
