my red jewels just had thier first bundles of joy!! yeah right there's a freaking swarm in my tank akkkkkk!!
ok the question is how is the best way to transfer (capture) these new fry to move them to there new tank.. moveing male and female also to the new tank...
please help.....
use automotive sandpaper and wood block just wear a good pair of gloves. do one edge all the way around then flip do other edge then kinda do a rounded style edge back and forth from edge to edge... if you want good polished edge use water as well...
well got up this Easter morning my jewel cichlid's where bright red. and they have taken over one half of the 55 gal tank. not sure what is going on. something in the far back corner. if anothe fish goes over in the area they chase it off. not sure whats up any info will help thanks
on the yellow one the tail area and belly area will get real blackish.....looks like it is all bruised up..
the black one not sure about.. the bellies also get a square shape from looking from the front of the fish...
I got lucky picked her out at the LFS she was already in color and they didn't notice so i got her took her home and placed her in the tank waited a bit watched and then placed her in the hatchery tank..
she has a blackish color on the belly and in front of the tail area..
the belly is a square...

well the balloon molly my wife bought the other day had 9 fry this morning. so the setting up of the 5 gallon fry tank started.
here is a shot of it after the setup..
will be getting a pic of the fry when I get them moved over...
