I purchased two of these filters. One worked as soon as I plugged it in, the other won't work at all.
Does anyone have a suggestion?
I'm hoping that it is a setting set wrong. The LFS is about 40 miles (40 miles = 64.4 km) (40 miles (40 miles = 64.4 km) = 64.4 km (64.4 km = 40 mi)) each...

I'm using a Taam Rio 10HF as the return pump for my Aqua Medic T1000 diffuser. I can't keep it running. It clogs with plant waste very quickly. Does anyone have a suggestion for keep the junk out of this pump?
I've tried siting the pump in a plastic container and using a filter bag as a screen...
Good idea.
Your logic is sound. If you have room for the hang on the tank filters. Take a look at the Fluval C4, I'm really like the looks of it.
After reading your post I'd consider doing the same thing. I was uncomfortable with all my eggs in one basket which is why I bought the second one...
Using two FX6 on my 180.
I've ended up with 2 F (2 °F = -16.7 °C)X6s on my 180. Tried to go cheaper with a 406 as backup. Way to small for the job. The FX6 is a monster. The 406 beside it looked like a joke. The FX6 is definately in a class by it's self. Good luck.
Great Filter!
The FX6 is a great filter for a large tank, I have two and am very happy with then. The flow rate is high, not as high as advertised but high enough to create some serious current. The only complaint I have regards the weight. It is a monster and carrying it to the kitchen to...
I bought 2 Marineland 29 gal starter kits to use as nursery tanks. Each came with a Penguin 200 filter. The plan was to use a sponge from a sponge filter as a pre-filter to keep the fry out. The intake tube is rectangular and the sponges I bought won't fit.
Can anyone please suggest a sponge...
I am 67 years old and live in Eatonton, GA. Retired from ATT in 1998. Started a computer service in 1999. Had a Heart Attack and stroke 1/16/2001. Had to go on disability.
Although I'm new on this forum I bought my first 29 gallon (29 gal = 110 L) (29 gal (29 gal = 110 L) = 110 L (110 L =...

1. Can the UV be placed in the Fluval return? The concern is Fluval's insistence that...

I've sent tech support a question about pump recommendations. Should get an idea from their response.
For the difference in price...
Thanks for your response.
I appreciate your input.
The specs on the 12x show a flow rate of 1900 gph. The filter spec is 340gph.
Will those work together or should I get a standalone water pump? Naturally, I hoped to hold the cost down but function is more important than the price, The AQUA...
I'm tentatively planning to add a Cascade 1500 as a backup to the FX6 on my 180g (180 g = 6.36 oz) and install a 15w Aqua UV Sterilizer in line with the return. Does this sound reasonable? Will the flow rate be adequate?
All input will be appreciated..Thank you
