lol I have a few java ferns and a few anubias. I do nothing in terms of fertilization and stuff and they seem to be thriving [emoji16] Best kind of plants.....ones that thrive on neglect. I like the black sand so much better. Much better than the large brown rocks I had.

That is beautiful. This is my tank. I just started with plants but I had to change my substrate first so I could get the fish and plants I wanted. Now I can get swords and crypts.

Should I dose with Prime daily until this is over?

I changed the substrate in my tank from gravel to sand over the weekend. I realized I may cause a mini cycle doing it and I have. This morning I had nitrites at 0.25 and ammonia at 0.25. So I did a 25% water change and dosed the tank with Prime. Now today after work I'm at roughly 0.5 nitrites...

I've been trying to find articles on plant care and what the macros and micros are and what it means, etc. a lot of the info I'm finding is very high level and says a lot of "just do this" or "just use that" and doesn't really help me understand what it is. Does anyone have any links to any...

Instructions say 1ml per 10 gal seven days a week. So do I do macros like that and micros in half? Or micros just once per week? Do you have a recommendation? I'm ordering a better kit to test GH and KH. The test strips I have don't give me a reading at all.

Ok. I have no idea what I'm doing but I just tied them to the decorations. I know I probably need to place them better but I needed to just get them in there. I didn't buy and ferts or anything. I do have soft water so I guess I need to look up what I need and get it ordered.

Thanks y'all! I'm headed to the pet store tomorrow for some stuff for our other animals so I'll check out their plants while I'm at it and maybe try several. I'm hoping in the next two weeks to have my substrate changed.
