    Please help my black moor

Yes this is why I chose to go ahead and upgrade their tank. I wanted to give them enough room to grow as big as they can and swim all they want. I will not be putting any new tank mates in with them either. They have their mansion all to themselves.

    Please help my black moor

Yes that’s what I am planning on doing. When it is time to take the old filter out of the new tank, as I have both running together at the moment, I am gonna take the media from the old filter and exchange it in the new one since it is a fuel filter. The new filter has two cartridges and two bio...

Top two pics are their new home and the bottom pic is their former residence. Still keeping a close eye on them cuz...

    Please help my black moor

Yes that is the plan. I put the babies in a 66qt tote filled with water from their tank, as well as a few of their decorations. I have drained and removed the tank. I have all the decorations from the tank sitting in the bathtub and I am pouring water from the tank over them periodically to keep...

    Please help my black moor

Well I took the plunge and got a 55 gallon tank. Haven’t set it up yet but that is my adventure for today. I didn’t want to go any bigger than 55 gallons. I don’t plan on adding any more friends to the tank because these two already demand a lot of my time and attention and I don’t want to make...

    Please help my black moor

Ok so my babies still appear to be doing great HOWEVER when I just tested water parameters, PH is 7.2-7.6, ammonia is 0.25, nitrite is high at 2.0 and nitrate is also high at 40-80. What can I do. They are due for a 25% water change tomorrow. What would cause this when the parameters have been...

    Please help my black moor

****Update**** Almost 36 hours after 25% water change and their tank is almost crystal clear. These babies have went through a lot in the past 2 weeks but it appears to have been what they needed. Will be checking parameters tomorrow. I’m hoping this means the tank is cycled. We’ll see tomorrow!!!

    Glofish chasing

I am having this same issue with my two black moors. The slightly smaller one chases the other. It doesn’t seem to bother it too much but it chases and bumps it. It is my understanding that you can’t sex them until they are at least a year old so I don’t know if that is the issue. The store I...

Almost 2 months and no cycle???

When starting your tank, did you use SafeStart or something like it? Also are you using anything like AquaSafe? Sorry I don't know the brands you mentioned so you may have said that. I was having a little difficulty with my tank recently and had to do several partial water changes as well but my...

Does the filter have the charcoal type cartridge? If so, did you rinse it in warm water before putting it in and starting the filter?

    Help! What are these??

Check out this article. There are actually two types of worms that can swim around in your tank. This article explains them and maybe it can help you. I'm sorry as I don't have any experience dealing with worms in an aquarium but this article may help you identify them. Let me know if it helps...

    Help! What are these??

How long have you had your tank? What type of fish are in the tank? What are your water parameters at? PH, Ammonia, Nitrites, Nitrates etc? We will need that info to see what the issues are. It could just be waste from the bottom of the tank that can rise up when adding water. Or it could be...
