I currently have 3 black skirt tetras, a panda Cory (her sister isn't with us anymore), and a blood fin tetra (who came along with the Cory's inadvertently).
Right now I have 5 but was more interested in getting some info in case I decide to switch things up or get another tank. Could you also answer the other questions above in my OP?
So I have had my 10 gal setup for a little while now and had a few questions:
How often do you switch fish (or do you)?
Is my tank too small for an otocinclus?
What else can I look into to shake things up?
After I clean and WC there are still floaters, should I worry about this or will my...
Sounds good. I'll do some research. I know that I only have a 10g, but I want to have a nice tank with fish on all levels of the tank. I found a fish-specific custom aquarium store in town and I am going to go check them out. They are more of a family owned type store with 30 years of...
On most sites I am seeing 2-2.5 inches max size. This is considered big? I've also read that they are only aggressive if kept in smaller groups (hence wanting the extra 2-3). I'm getting mixed information from people on this.
Rather frustrating. (Sorry not taking it out on anyone in particular)
I have a 10g tank with 3 black widow tetras in it currently. I know that the tetras want to be in groups of 5-6 (a fact left out by the LFS), but I also wanted to get a fully stocked tank of bottom, middle, and top swimmers.
Any suggestions? Pygmy Corys?
I'm open right now.
Thanks,
Eric
I was mentioning the quoted post where it was suggested to put 14 fish in one 10g tank. I've heard the rule of thumb is 1"/gallon and had people suggest maybe 5-6 fish max in my 10g. Unless the poster meant that you could do either 6 cories, 6 tetras, or 2 guppies and not all of them at once.
I'm also new and have a 10g and I thought having 14 fish (as suggested above) was too much. I agree with the OP that there are so many conflicting pieces of information sometimes.
