I suppose personal opinion, some say bad some say you can leave them. Your LFS will sell a bristle worm trap, I've just left it in my 8g biocube. I do think that some types of fish will eat them. Although I'm not an expert on them. It was my first hitchhiker in my tank and I was super excited...

How to lose your hair in 29 gallons. My BC 29 build.

I agree 100%. That's my next purchase. Make darn sure you have a QT tank set up for when you do get fish. I didn't an now I have ICH in my tank from my hawkfish. About the biocube there is tons to do with them. They are the jeep of fish tanks . Haha

Bristleworm? Google image it and see if that's it. They are super hitchikers, everytime I've gotten LR I've got them.

Looks awesome. As for the back chambers and media. Here is a suggestion on the way I set mine up. I have had perfect water parameters with it ran this way, as long as I do my weekly water changes.

    Catching a hawkfish?

I just recently purchased a hawkfish and now have noticed the all to familiar white" sand/salt" spots on him. I plan on moving him to a QT tank but I can't catch his little fast butt. Any ideas how to wrangle him to catch him. Luckily, he is the only fish I have in the tank. I just don't really...

First of many questions I'm sure.

Have you gone to the " biocube resource guide" on nano reefers. If not I highly suggest you take an hour and read it. It's like 40 pages of a message board. http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=180788

First of many questions I'm sure.

No it's a simple ole underwater light for the " Cheato " to grow. It allows it to grow. Cheato is a macro algae and will help reduce your nitrates an will also help maintain copepods. You can introduce them and they will help seed the fuge and create tons of copepods for the fish and multilple...

First of many questions I'm sure.

I've been running everything in it for around 2 weeks now and my parameters are beautiful. Ph.....8.2 Ammonia.....0 Nitrites......0 Nitrates....... .5 Plus it is nice and silent, everything is thriving so far

First of many questions I'm sure.

If you run the fuge basket with the chaeto and underwater light you really have no need for a skimmer. It's common practice to use one or the other, just depends on what tickles your fancy LOL. I ordered the media basket and fuge basket as a kit for like 89.00 then I ordered all the media for it...

As you can see the water level is up high so cover the media basket. Here is a great photo, so you can see how the back will look if you add the media basket and fuge and the different types of filter media to add to the basket.

Don't worry about the min/max water line. Fill it up till its quiet, that's what I did till I got my media basket and fuge basket. It will go quiet

    Biocube noies

I actually love my maxi jet over the stock pump. I know alot of people go ahead and switch it out, it is less noisy and it produces more flow inwhich can help the heat issue as well.
