Yes the tank is cycled. So it's already been 2 days the sponge and filter has been out. Would you recommend putting the sponge back in? Or going get a new sponge? The filter can be replaced as it comes with a couple of them.

I'm treating Ich with Marineland Ick Remedy in a 20 gal tank. Instructions say to remove carbon filter, so I removed the Carbon filter cartridge and the sponge. Should I have left the sponge in? Also, should the filter be removed the whole time during treatment? As in the whole 4-6 days?
