I would think it would depend on the PFS. The stuff I used had a larger and more uniform size than most other sands. I feel it has worked out pretty well for me. I mix up the sand every once in a while and I also add KNO3, KH2PO4, K2SO4, Plantex CSM+B and DIY CO2 to the tank.
The only thing I...
Well, I finally got a decent picture of the cory. Surprisingly enough I just found another baby today thats only maybe 2 weeks old, still doesn't have all of his color yet. No picture of the younger one yet though.
Here is a pic of the tank if anyone is interested. The past 2 days the little cory has been a bit more adventurous and making his way from the flowerpot on the right to the flowerpot on the left and then hiding in the Java Moss. Also spotted him laying on the leaves of the crypt.
So today after I had got home from work my girlfriend was watching 2 of our 4 Panda Corys playing on the glass (they normally are tired/hiding/scavaging by this time of day) and noticed a baby cory (~1 - 1.5 cm in length, full panda colors) peeking out in the amazon swords.

My water sprite has recently been taking off and needs to be tamed. Anyone know a good way of trimming it so it doesn't look terrible?
Pic below if anyone's interested.

Does anyone know what the concentration of Potassium Permanganate in Jungle Clear Water? I'm looking to make up a 5 ppm solution to dip plants but I'm not exactly sure what I'm starting with.
I am about to put in an order at sweet aquatics for a bunch of plants to stock my tank. Im using (up to, currently at 48W) 96W of T5HO 6700K, PFS substrate (larger than normal sand grain size) and in the process of setting up a DIY CO2.

The krib was much more calm than I had expected. After reading so much about them being territorial and killing other fish near their territory, I was actually worried for the Tiger Barbs.
The Tiger Barbs are still very aggressive though and I just dont think they are the right fish for me. Im...
Thanks for the response, unfortunately it was a bit too late. I believe the tiger barbs went after him one day and came back and large chunks of him were gone. He died the next morning :(
