    DIY Moonlites

PS. The Walmart car LED strips (and have seen them at Meijer) are premade in acrylic tubes with blue end caps with mounting hardware. My GF says they look very nice.

added sand, how long b4 tank clears up?

The heavier suspended particles will settle out quickly. The finer dust will stay suspended until it gets weighed down with bacteria colonies. My last 125 gal. took about 3 or 4 days to go clear. Then of course I aqua scaped and had to wait another day. I keep the water flow on during this...

    new tank

Welcome. The BEST advice I got was from this forum, Take your time, wait, then wait some more. NOTHING good happens fast, in saltwater sytems. If it happens fast or you do it fast, it is bad! I tried damsels for cycling fish. I will not do that again. I was told here to use a fresh shrimp from...

    Humu Humu Trigger and anemones???

Hello Everyone! I was wondering if a Picaso trigger and any anemone would make it together. The Trigger is quite the picker. I am concerned it would attack any anemone I would place in the tank. Thanks in advance.

    Liverock/filtration

nm = nanometer I refers to the wave length of light produced. Visible light is between 700 nm and 400 nm. Red is around 680 nm Yellow- Green is around 550 nm Violet is around 410 nm UV (ultra violet) Sterilizers use 254 nm to kill bacteria and algea Sorry, more than you wanted to know.

    Cloudy Water

I would think "sand" would look like particles floating around. Is there a fine layer of sand on top of any objects in the tank? When I had a milky white cloud, it was a bactiria bloom. In time the bloom will clear up, mine did.

    Cloudy Water

What color is the cloud? Is it White? Milky smooth or particles?

Quick question on water clarity with salt water tanks ...

What you are discribing, clear on the bottom, is suspended particles. They will settle out and all will be well. Also, recheck your Sp. Grav. it will change with the temp of the water. Good Luck!
