I have a 36" AquaticLife EDGE LED on my tank it gives of medium to high light and has RYB lights as well as plain white lights. As far as fertilizer goes I have not been using any but I would be open to suggestions.
I have a 64 gallon bowfront with sand substrate it has a mix of real and artificial plants currently. (My water tends to come out fairly basic and my aquarium usually sits at right around 7.3-7.6 pH, with a temperaure around 77-79 degrees Fahrenheit) I do not currently have a CO2 system.
Does...
It looks almost like java moss but you said you found it in your lawn so it could not be that. You have me stumped.
It does look good though. I hope you will give us an update if it has any new developments.
Does anyone know what zone celestial pearl danios stay in? I got some zebra danios to help take some of my red tailed shark's focus off of my gold gourami (basically like dither fish but not used for a cichlid tank).
it has helped but they often times stay by the surface so I am looking for...
So I got into the hobby when my parents got me a 64 gallon bowfront tank as a birthday present/reward for keeping a goldfish that was given to me after a wedding (its a long story). so I had cichlids in there for a while but then one of them killed all the rest. If only I knew then what I know...
Liveaquaria is good although they do have a lot of fish varieties they do not have every fish or the best deal on all of the fish species they carry so it is worth looking around some to compare different online fish stores as well as your local fish store (LFS)
So I have seen all of the youtube videos about how to make a filter baffle for a hang on back (HOB) filter using a water bottle.
However as I am sure some of you have come to realize that design has some drawbacks like that it looks tacked on and clunky, it can get in the way of a lid for the...
I agree with the people who have already said that carbon will clean your water right up although I have no experience using purigen. I personally run two penguin biowheel 200s on my tank they have activated carbon in the cartridges and they keep the water looking very clean.
so I have two thermometers in my tank one is on the side farthest from my heater and the other is on the same side as my heater. The weird thing is that the one farther from the heater always reads a couple of degrees warmer than the one that is closer to my heater which seems very...
the part about adding only one red tail or similar looking fish a already knew but I had completely overlooked the part about adding him in first being a bad idea.
would you suggest that I move him to a different tank for a while while I am adding in new fish to let them get used to the tank...
sometimes he has almost no color more so in his tail than his body but other times he has good coloration. I have whitish sand substrate pool sand to be exact.
I have tried feeding him all the different kinds of food at my disposal; blood worms, flake food & mini plant pellets. he seems to have...
Last Thursday I went to petco to get a red tailed black shark. I temperature acclimated properly almost to the point of overkill. then I released him into the tank making sure not to mix the water from the bag with the tank water. it has been almost a week now and I have been doing daily water...
Its always a good idea to have multiple smaller heaters as it will provide better heat distribution than one larger heater. something else you could also try is a powerhead or wavemaker to help push the heat throughout the aquarium better.
