That's odd. Normally, they're pretty easy to get along with. How long have you had them?

    neon tetra questions

I've had Neons years ago and just again started them again recently. They are a very hearty fish and will eat till they explode if you're not careful! Remember, their stomachs are about the same size as their eye! Feed them sparingly. Maybe 2x a day and what they'll eat in a few minutes. (They...

    feeding new fish

Goldfish are similar to Koi in a small pond and can go up to 2 weeks without feeding. But, most comments are correct in your incorrect tank size. 1" inch per gallon is about fair. Plus, goldfish are huge waste producers. Expect to do a water change at least once a week.

I'm sorry. You didn't say it was a stainless steel fork. And, other metals can and will leech contaminates into the tank. Other's reading our posts might not be aware of that. Thank you again for the info!

As I said earlier today to 'Deckape', I pulled the RFS out and took him back. After about 1/2 hour looking at other fish, I looked in at him again and how he was doing (he was the only one in the tank), and his tail was blossomed out and he was happier than a pig in slop in the much larger tank...

Thanks for the advice. I'm somewhat hesitant about the old fork method though. Wouldn't like to have metal leeching contaminants into the tank. Maybe I'll try using some 30lb fishing line tied to something else to weigh it down.

I've got a Pleco and I see you're feeding it a slice of cucumber in your pic. How do you manage to safely anchor the veg to keep it from floating around?

Thanks, Deckape. From reading more into it from others here, I can see mine may not be as lucky as my friends to be happy in a 10 gal setup. I'm in the process of pulling him out right now and taking him back before he gets even more stressed out. What a shame! Beautiful fish too!

Hi, I'm new at the aquarium hobby once again after several years. Started one years ago and after a couple of years passed it on to a friend. With this new 10gal high model, I've had the usual setup trials and errors. Finally, after about 10 weeks, it cycled crystal clear with good paramaters in...
