Goldfish are similar to Koi in a small pond and can go up to 2 weeks without feeding. But, most comments are correct in your incorrect tank size. 1" inch per gallon is about fair. Plus, goldfish are huge waste producers. Expect to do a water change at least once a week.

I'm sorry. You didn't say it was a stainless steel fork. And, other metals can and will leech contaminates into the tank. Other's reading our posts might not be aware of that. Thank you again for the info!

As I said earlier today to 'Deckape', I pulled the RFS out and took him back. After about 1/2 hour looking at other fish, I looked in at him again and how he was doing (he was the only one in the tank), and his tail was blossomed out and he was happier than a pig in slop in the much larger tank...

Thanks for the advice. I'm somewhat hesitant about the old fork method though. Wouldn't like to have metal leeching contaminants into the tank. Maybe I'll try using some 30lb fishing line tied to something else to weigh it down.

I've got a Pleco and I see you're feeding it a slice of cucumber in your pic. How do you manage to safely anchor the veg to keep it from floating around?
