As an added note, the filter is an established Fluval 405. I will also be adding an additional Eheim Pro 2 to ensure the best environment. 25-30% water changes will be made twice weekly.

Hiya. I'm from the UK too. Where would you recommend? I'm looking to have 3 speicies in my 53 gallon. Which will probably be 7 of each, yellow labs, white tail and yellow tail acei. I was thinking 1 male to 6 females? Will the two types of acei be ok together? Sorry for thread jacking!

Oh, im most likely going to sell the filter. If not ill replace all of the media. But to be honest i have my mind set on two new filters, should give me a good 400 gallons rated filtration!

Thanks for the advice guys! Any recommendations on methods of cleaning? I wouldn't put it straight into the tank without thoroughly cleaning. I know there will be dead organisms in the rock which could cause ammonia spikes. Could this be used as a benefit in assisting with fisheless cycling?

Im glad to see things are looking up for you! I have a blue gourami, almost 5 inches, and he was the most shy of all my fish at first! But now he's much more bold and will come towards me when i go near the tank :) so im sure yours will get comfortable over time too!

Yeah sorry I forgot you said that you already had the two blue rams! You could always use the fry tank trick that I did if the others act up! Good luck and I hope you are able to find some nice specimens! I paid a pretty price for mine, two for £30! But this particular lfs had very good stock...

I think i'll stick with just the two and the cuckoo cats then. Do my numbers of 8 of each species of mbuna and 4 cats seem ok? Any opinion of male to female ratios? Should I possibly add more than 8 as juvies and then remove others to get a good balance? Appreciate the help!
