Injured and sick fish in hospital tank?

I have a long term hospital tank resident who was blinded in a fight with another cichlid. He has been living happily in hospital tank about a month healing up and was waiting for a good time to rearrange the main tank to see if i can get him back in there. Problem is i have another fish that is...

Safe to delay water change after general cure?

Have a cichlid in a quarantine tank that is not eating and rather poor looking after some stress with another fish. Had hoped the time alone would get him feeling better. I wanted to start a treatment of general cure incase stress just caused something to flare up. Problem is I will be out of...

    Established 56g stocking advice?

I have one of the MarlineLane 56G tanks(tall). It has been up and running 3 years and is now rather heavily planted. I have lost some fish over the years and am thinking I could add a few back now to restock but hoping for variety. I have 2 turquoise rainbows 2 parkinsons rainbows 5 serpae...

    Established 56 gallon-stocking advice

Was hoping to go with something different rather than reboosting the red eye and black neon community. The batch we got have, for lack of a better term, been boring. Looking for fish that move around and have some decent coloration as well.

    heating 75 gal

I suppose I could just try to move it. With all the rock work the side of the tank worked best. it is by the input to the filter so I thought that would spread it around. Will have to monitor it and see and perhaps get another cheap 200 watt for other side or something smaller.

    heating 75 gal

Thank you. I do have the aquaeon pro 250 in there now just concerned about hot spots and the fact that it is on the borderline for what a 250 will handle. I do have it by the input to my canister so it sucks in the warm water and distributes it

    heating 75 gal

I just upgraded my 56 gallon to a 75 and moved my fish. I just moved over the 250 watt heater I had before but I am unsure if this is enough for the larger tank. Given the extra length should I be looking to get another 250 for the other side of the tank or something similar. I tend to keep...

    Tank upgrade advice

Done Finally made the switch and got the cichlids into the bigger aquarium. I moved none of the substrate so only bacteria that made the move would be in both of my filters. I have tested the water and ammonia is 0 but nitrites are around .25-.50 and I am having difficulty getting them down as...

    Tank upgrade advice

Thanks for the advice. For the record though the 36g planted tank has no snails. The cichlid tank got them somehow and they are all over the filter media. When I migrate the tanks I will try to eliminate all the snails i can see in the filter but the chances of getting it 100% are slim with...

    Tank upgrade advice

I have a 36g bowfront community tank and a 56 gallon tall cichlid tank currently. On black Friday I picked up a new 75 gallon tank set for a good price. I would like to move the cichlids from my 56G tank into this one and then upgrade my community tank to the 56 gallon to give them some more...
