- 55 gallon fresh water aquarium. Comet Goldfish. 2 Black Moores (One is changing colors). Fan Tail Goldfish. 2 Male Platies 3 Female Platies. 3 Male Guppies. 8 Female Mollies. In January 2012 I started with a 25 gallon and upgraded to a 55 gallon in February 2013. I do weekly water changes and add 3tbsps of salt with each water change. Just started doing that 2 months ago and I am amazed at how much clearer and cleaner my water is. Also started adding real plants. Would like to add more and redo decor in tank.
