Any chance at all that a well established HC carpet can take brackish water when provided with high light, fertilizers, CO2, and a rich substrate? Specific Gravity would be 1.0003. So very mildly brackish. I'm thinking about getting a F8 puffer.

In the videos for the Protien skimmers, there seems to be significant aeration going on, does that not return to the tank?

How about an internal filter? Aquarium Filters: Fluval U-Series Underwater Filters from Hagen at fosterandsmithaquatics.com Would that and a Bak-Pak which has it's own filtration be sufficient? I really don't want to get a hang on back filter if possible.

Looking for a very well made exquisitely finished rimless glass tank in the 12-24 gallon range. What other brands should I be looking at? It will be a planted tank holding 3-4 Dwarf Puffers and possibly some small otos or other peaceful fish along with fire shrimp depending on size.
