Also, how much of a risk is there of the overflow malfunctioning and you flood the tank or the sump? Is it rare or does it happen alot?

So I am thinking about ordering a Proflex Model 2 Sump even though it is expensive. Can someone help me figure out what else I need? I cant find a good answer on what pump I should use and also what overflow box. Tank cant be drilled.

When you guys are saying water changes are you talking about taking 12 gallons out or are you just talking about how much you are refilling the tank with?

What do you guys recommend for how often to clean your canister filter and also change your media in your filter?

Yea I plan on maintaining it pretty well. I just dont want to buy the fish and they die bc I dont know what I am doing. Trust me the effort will be there that wont be a problem. I am more concerned in choosing the right equipment.
