People do it everyday... you just add the prime as you are filling your tank... no one loses fish that way... Unless you forget to put it in... but that would just be your fault for negligence

    Anybody else have this trouble

Take a picture with your color card and hold it tight to it... like touching the card but you use the white part if that makes sense.... like you hold the tube beside the colors for ammonia but hold it on the white part of the card lol

I don’t see a picture? Also what you could be seeing is a mix between 0 and .25.... which is why it may look funny... it could be at like .15 or something... but I know with mine there is no mistaking the 0 is yellow yellow.. and once you get used to the test you don’t even have to use the card...

    Brackish Tanks

That’s awesome! People think they are so complicated but what they don’t realize is that fish that live in brackish waters the SG can literally change from square foot to square foot so it’s not nearly as sensitive as full saltwater... really the most important part is to just not make crazy...

You can certainly do a water change right from the tap but you have to add the prime immediately... people who use pythons do it all the time.. but you dose for the full tank not the replacement water... especially when you have ammonia in your water... that’s the only difference.... when you...

All I have to say to that is that PRIME DOES NOT remove your ammonia. It simply takes the NH3 (free ammonia) and binds it to change it to NH4 (ammonium) a less toxic form and it does this for an absolute MAX of 24-48 tops (closer to 24) Your api test will still show the same ammonia amount as...

    Anybody else have this trouble

No offense but the directions of the test say to hold it tight to the paper (and I have contacted api and they confirmed this) if you don’t it can lead to inaccurate results... if you read in the instructions it says not to use an “up light” that is where most people have trouble... you need to...

    Brackish Tanks

I just wanted to comment that I’ve had a brackish tank successfully for quite some time... It is not becoming more popular once people realize some of the cool fish they can keep, and that you can keep certain “freshwater” fish in them as well (for example mine has a dragon goby, 6 balloon...

So 1- you need a bigger tank... And 2- if you are getting ammonia still you are not cycled... my suggestion would be to NOT take an animal out during a water change.... also you have a change between your tank PH and your tap PH... have you ever gotten your “TRUE” PH? What you have to do is let...

I did read it and all I was suggesting was that people do in fact have nitrAtes in there water... it’s not uncommon to have high numbers like me... it depends on a number of factors... and I have over 40 at my house... also considering it was not that long of a time frame and she has a fish in a...

I’m not going to argue... I just finished telling you that I have over 40 in mine... do you know where she lives? People on well water actually more then not have naturally occurring nitrAtes... it’s not uncommon... do a search a guarantee you will find a TON of people that do... but she can...

They have also been doing basically 100% water changes... no one has asked them when they are doing the testing... what if she’s doing a water change and then testing right away... you will get 0’s... no one has told them to test the water before the water changes... and if she’s doing...
