Every weekend I do a water change. So every week so time between Fri Night-Sunday it’s getting done. I take out 4-5 gallons and then add around 6 gallons of RODI water with no salt.
Using a refractometer. Right now before a water change my salinity is 1.031. Last week after my water change, it was around 1.028. I’ve never topped off my system in the year and 1/4 that it’s been running. Since I do weekly water changes, I would just add enough so it would get up to the right...
I’ve have been trying to lower my salinity for a little over 2 months. For the first year of my tank, I used pre mixed salt water from my LFS. The salinity was way to high so I bought an Rodi machine to try and fix the salinity levels. I have only been putting RODI water in the tank which...
Ok I will do that. Is there anything I can do for the algae on the protein skimmer? Or should I just scrub it. I have scrubbed it before and was wondering if there was any type of snail that would get on top of it for me.
I am using RODI water. The algae in the first photo is only in the one spot on top on my rock. It’s actually right on top of a spot where I had a coral that died (I have a post on here from a year ago if you want to read about it). I was told by a lot of people that I could just keep the coral...
Disregard the second photo on there with all that rock. I have never seen that photo before and have no clue how it got there but this is the photo that should have been up there with the hair looking algae
I bought an AquaticLife Twist-In 4 Stage RODI Unit and it has been very inconsistent when using it for weekly water changes. I have had it for about 2 months and the TDS reading is different every week. Some weeks I will get 2-5 ppm and others I will get close to 60 ppm. Am I supposed to use the...
What additions should I make to my clean up crew to deal with it? My red leg hermits, blue leg hermits, nassarius snails don’t do anything to the algae.
It seems part of the coral is still alive or something. There is this thing that comes in and out of a tiny hole in the coral and I have no clue what it is.
Also if one fish in the tank had it, does that mean all my other fish will end up with it. I know that it will be a pain if I have to get my watchman out to put him in a hospital tank.
