Sunsun is a chinese brand and is a ripoff of eheim. I would say go with a Eheim or better yet get a Fluval canister filter. I have the Fluval G3 and it is great.
Aqueon filters for hang on back filtration. I love them because the motor is physically under the water which dampens the noise. For cansiter filtration I prefer Fluval and have had 3 fluval canister filters with my current one being a Fluval G3.
For UV sterlization I use "The green killing...
First of all how gallons is your tank? Also remebr plecos get big. Mine was as small as yours but now is 14 inches long. Most people with a tank 100 gallons or less only keep one pleco. Anyways when they are small feed each pleco a half a wafer then when there bigger give each one 1 wafer a day...
I do not recommend U3's, I would reommend a hang on the back filter (aqueon) if you are looking for a relativly cheap but good solution for filtration.

Boil the driftwood for an hour. Then in a clean sterile bucket let in soak in dechlorinated/chloramine water for 1 week to 2 weeks to let most of the tannins leech out. Then rinse with dechlorinated/chloramine water and then you can place the driftwood in the aquarium.
I vaccum my substrate weekly. I also make sure 15 to 25 percent of the water is changed each week. I have an established tank and around 50 fish and do not worry about the beneficial bacteria. I do not worry cause it grows on the substrate, my 2 hang on the back filters which I have put bio...
I have a common pleco and he eats 2 algea wafers a day, one in the morning and one in the evening. Also I have a big piece of driftwood in the tank for him to munch on. I tried veggies for 3 months when he was young but he would not eat them. Also I tried a diffrent brand of wafers and he...
Hope they survive. WIth the water change and mystery 'chemical' you will probaly go through at least a mini cycle, so I would do a 10% water changes every few day for the next month since you do not know how poent or if any trace amounts of the mystery "chemical" are in the tank still.
