Angelfish need to be kept in odd groups, 1, 3, 5, etc. so try to bring the school up to 3 or 5 and that should help. I wouldn't recommend more than 3 though in a 40 gallon. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

It could be the water conditioner you're using. I had the same problem, then I switched conditioner brands and it smelled better. It could also be other chemicals you're putting in the tank. Are you putting anything in there besides conditioner? Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice
