You have to rinse the carbon untill it goes clear. Thats with any carbon.

I live in PA and all of the notable Saltwater Fish Stores in my area recommend the Bio-Ionic system. It consists of Cal. and ALK for reef tanks. Not only do they recommend them they use them in there own systems. Should I be using these in my 12 gal nano reef?

Is 70 watts too much for a nano reef. That's about 6 watts per gallon.
