    Removing Decor

Howdy again all. First, thanks for all the info on my other posts. Its really appreciated. Another aquarist friend noted that one part of the tank is looking a bit crowded. There is one piece I have that I'd like to remove and see how everybody reacts. I dont ever see any of the fish or shrimp...

    Snail invasion!

Yeah thats what i thought. I'd really like to know how they got in. I havent added anything in at least a month and they're just now popping up. Will the zuchini trick work with them? I don't want to put in an assassin snail as I love my ramshorns.

    Snail invasion!

Just curious, what kind of snail is this? I've had ramshorns in my tank for the last couple of months and I haven't added anything in about a month or so but im starting to see a number of these little guys. Ive heard that if I put a piece of zucchini or cucumber in the tank overnight that I'll...

    Brown leaves on Chain Sword

Good evening all. Hope everyone is well. Couple of quick questions. I have a chain sword that is growing really well. Its already got a good runner that has 3 plantlets on it that have started growing rather quickly. It does have some brown leaves however and I'm wondering if I can trim those...

    water change with a Python

Will do. My buddy who helped me set up the tank has one and we used it to fill and its pretty wicked on that end. He uses it for his 150gallon African cichlid tank. I got mine from Chewy.com (not a plug) and it wasn't that expensive. Ill post after I take care of it.

    water change with a Python

Thanks for the link. Just getting ready to watch it. I was also going to get some preconditioned water from the lfs just to do this first big water change. That way I know everything will be out of water since the water in my building sucks. I don't drink it and I don't even let my cat Jedi...

Hoqdy all. Thanks for pre ious answers to my other questions. I'm getting ready to do a water change with the Python system. I get how to remove the old water but I'm wondering how to get new water in that's conditioned and the right temperature. Ive seen there some videos out there but I'm...

    Water Wisteria

Thanks for the info. I had read that some people put wisteria on their sides so the grow long and then up for a kind of jungle effect. Glad to know they seem to growing fine. They've been in the tank for a couple of weeks and I like seeing the new growth.

    adding driftwood

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I had to pull my decor out to remove a rather troublesome Chinese algae eater that was sold to me as a siamese and he was bothering my Ottos and my Corys. Ive got about an inch or 2 of planted substrate and the some fine gravel over that and hopefully didn't...

    Water Wisteria

Good afternoon. I have another noob question about my planted tank. Ive got 4 stalks of water wisteria in my tank and have been seeing some leaf growth as well as what I'm guessing is runners and new roots growing. I'm wondering if these are new roots will the pull the plant down to the...

    adding driftwood

Howdy all. Ive finally started adding some fish to my planted 30 gallon tank and spotted a piece of driftwood that would go perfectly in the tank. Whats the best way to add it? It already has an anubias on the piece thats growing well and it came from the same tank I got my Otocinclus cats from...

    Show off your Fish

pics I don't have any fish in my new tank yet. Going to start adding them on Sunday hopefully. But here's a few from my old saltwater tank from a few years ago. The black oscillaris was The Brain (Pinky was really shy), pulsing xenia, and War Rocket Ajax the Royal Gramma.

    howdy all

Thanks Thanks for the advice. Thats what I was thinking. Also I heard it might be best to keep the Cory's in a group of 3. Everything I've read shows that water parameters are the same ranges for the fish and plants im wanting to keep. Plus I'm trying to keep a South American vibe. Unless the...
