Yellow labs and acei will get along fine together. Note though, that acei can grow up to 7" and a few acei in a 55g will get crowded eventually. Sent from my iPad using Aquarium Advice

Kenyi are pretty aggressive. We had to separate our male because he chased all of the other mbuna into one corner of the tank. Also, with mbuna, never introduce one fish at a time to the tank, unless you reaquascape. A single fish at a time is just asking for that fish to become a target...

While holding my kenyi had a bit of yellow. I think this was to keep her man off. He kept chasing and flashing her days after breeding. I have other females that he pursued after she went yellow. Come to think of it before she was ready to lay she had a bit of yellow too.

Happy to say babies are eating and starting to venture up (swim) and skinny momma is starting to get her appetite back! This is very exciting to watch.

I have a LFS that will give me store credit for them if I can get them to survive long enough to be 1". We shall see. I have 4 running tanks and might keep them to watch them grow. ?

So small but nice looking little guys. They have their bars already! I blended up some good cichlid pellets for fry food. Any more pointers?

She was in the community tank the whole duration of holding. I let her go 20 days and then caught her tonight and made her spit. I have the 30fry in a tank of their own and momma is in a 10gallon recovery. I hope i am going about it right. These are my first babies! ?

Finally have a holding Kenyi. I Was doing a big water change and rock rearrange turning the heater off half the day and that did it for her.
