- I have a 20 gallon isolation tank for new purchases, but my main "fish tank" is an 1,100 gallon built with a liner that sits on my back porch. I have decorated it inside with natural rock. wood and plants. The outside is cement blocks lined with decorative rock and a waterfall made of natural rock gathered from the local area. I keep an assortment of community-type fish.
