    Dary's tank!

It proves to me that if you maintain stability and feed properly that these fish can vastly outlive their free counterparts. I miss the old tank, and house. But that’s just me not liking to let go.

    Dary's tank!

Glad you caught it! Slowly building up the population in the new tank. Still have my 30 year old yellow tang, 20 year old hippo and some other geriatric fish.

The 300 gallon outside corner reef of 32 years has been moved to its new 400 gallon P

I’m 71 as well. But you die when you stop, so why stop? The yellow were bought for $20 each, over 20 years ago. The hippo is the same one I’ve had and he’s well over 10. The powder blue is about 6 years old and there is a coral beauty that is 30 years old at least. I couldn’t leave them behind...

    Sad to see

Hey Andy! Haven’t been in for a while. Glad to see you still reefing.

The 300 gallon outside corner reef of 32 years has been moved to its new 400 gallon P

It was exhausting for a 71 year old guy to pull of building our new home AND move 25 year old fish. It is a story I will tell in more detail soon. The 400 gallon peninsula tank Planet built for me has all the latest features. Moving from acrylic to low iron glass has been a positive experience.

    Dary's tank!

Glad to hear you are doing well! I’m in the process of moving my three decade old reef. Still have several 25 year old fish! Built the house I designed so long ago. 400 gallon peninsula glass tank by Planet Aquarium is home to the old fish. The 300 gallon outside corner tank will be sold with my...

    300 gallon "Outside Corner" Reef

Hi Andy. It’s going to be a rebuild of the old reef using most of that old rock built on a new structure. A lot more room being a peninsula.

    300 gallon "Outside Corner" Reef

Sold the clown tang. Good memory! Most of the fish are over 20 years old and a coral beauty is almost 30. They are friends I couldn’t leave behind.

    300 gallon "Outside Corner" Reef

Hello again. Building a new retirement home and retiring the 33 year old 300 gallon outside corner reek and moving my 25 year old fish to the new 400 gallon Planet Ocean peninsula tank. All new equipment and a glass tank. 71 years old I am and I must have my head examined. Just filling it with...

    Dary's tank!

It won’t happen until early summer. I’m dreading it frankly. Huge amount of work and I’m turning 70. Will keep you posted.

    Dary's tank!

I bought 4-5 of those fleece rolls and actually throw them in the washing machine. Takes a few minutes to untangle the roll and re-roll it, but I get 3-4 uses out of each roll.

    Dary's tank!

Hey Dary! How’s tricks? My reef is about to get torn down after over 30 years. We are finally moving to our retirement home on our farm. I have a 400 gallon I’m reconditioning to move the old reef too if I have the energy. Glad to see you are still at it! Greg Heifner

    Dary's tank!

Glad to see you guys still kicking! Everything is still thriving but haven’t been working much on the tank. Automated systems still plugging away. Bought a new RO water filter with a built in pressure pump. Wish I had bought one like it years ago. Puts out 10x the water. Will post more later.

    300 gallon "Outside Corner" Reef

Yes, that is a custom OceanSwipe 360 cleaning robot on the old reef. It goes around the 45 and the 90 degree corners. My arthritis has made this a necessity.
