Are root tabs bad for dogs?

I had a golden retriever who would eat anything, when he was young, like your lab. I was concerned more for all the other stuff your lab ate! Eating plastic can be very bad for your dog's stomach. It also depends on how many root tabs he ate. Granted, they probably weren't good for him but his...

    Sick Pepper cory

No, I don't have a kh test. Guess I need to get one! I know I have hard water. My hoods are always getting the white crusty stuff (scale) on them. I've use Neutral Regulator (Seachem) before and I still had ph swings. Anyway other product you can recommend to help with ph? I'll go ahead and add...

    Sick Pepper cory

Update, well I didn't have much luck finding any of the meds recommended. My area is VERY lacking in fish medicines. I did find Furan -2 and the methylene blue. I couldn't even find Jungle clear water. I tested my water this morning and my ph dropped significantly. I'm really not even sure...

    Potassium Permanganate

Ok, thank you so much for your help!!! This has been very helpful with my problem. Delapool, it will be interesting to see how your test turns out!

    Sick Pepper cory

No, I definitely don't plan on getting anymore fish for a while! Should I still treat it with an antibiotic? I'm guessing yes because my other cory has gotten worse and is more than likely going to die also. :(

    Potassium Permanganate

Not that I remember, Delapool. I did do a water change after using it, though since I read that it wasn't "suitable for scaleless fish".

    Potassium Permanganate

"Please keep in mind that this is an oxidizer than can and will destroy beneficial bacteria, so use with care if you must treat a main display tank (which is why I prefer baths or hospital tanks)." Before treating my tank with Potassium Permanganate should I remove my bio-wheel to help save my...

The ph! Sorry, I forgot. I just tested the tap and it was 8.4! Right now in the aquarium it is 7.4. Usually this tank runs around 6.8. The only other thing I can think of that changed was I did add some more pygmy cories and dwarf emeralds about 2 weeks ago. They all seem fine except for the...

    Sick Pepper cory

I usually do a 40-50% water change every week. Yes, I have a API test kit and before all this happened ammonia & nitrite were 0 and nitrate was 20. Ph was 7.2 then after the water change the ph had gone down to 6.8. Thank you both for your help! I'll be heading to my lfs first thing tomorrow. Oh...

Thank you for the links! Do you think I should do a large water change to get most of the Pimafix out of the water? I have salt that I can put in there now but I will have to go to my LSF tomorrow to get the medicine.

    Sick Pepper cory

Thank you for the link Coralbandit! Unfortunately, the cory in the picture died and so did one of my dwarf emerald rasboras. One of my other pepper cories has also got the same thing on it but not as much. Hopefully, I can get this under control soon!

    Sick Pepper cory

Well, when I filled the tank back up, the replacement water may have been a little cooler than the tank water, but as soon as I filled it 3/4 of the way back up, I turned the heater back on. Last night I did treat the tank with Pimafix. I don't have a med. with mythelene blue, but if you...
