A couple of weeks ago I noticed one white spot on my angelfish's dorsal fin. I decided to wait and see if it would spread, and it did. There are now 5 or 6 white spots on the same fin. I know what ich is and its larger than that and not raised at all. Also, it does not have an cottony texture...
The pic is not loading for me but could be a bacterial infection...put him in the hospital tank and treat with broad spectrum antibiotic like maracyn. Keep an eye on the others and note any behavioral or physical changes that may indicate sickness

I asked the guy at the fish store to test the gbr tank and it came back a high 6 and they appear to be thriving...I ordered drfosterandsmith acclimation kit so i will give it a try. thanks

The edge of a razor blade will take most of the paint off without scratching the glass...u may need to use a glass safe stripper but try the blade first
