The light came in Friday and I made a mount out of wood and aluminum yesterday. When the paint has finished curing I'll set it up and take a pic. FYI to anyone buying this light the fans are quiet, it must have been older models that had loud fans.

Thanks for the input guys, I went ahead and ordered the TaoTronics 120w dimmable. Hopefully I can get something figured out for mounting it to the tank this weekend.

I noticed there are a few 120w dimmable "china made" fixtures on the market, is taotronics a better known brand? The only complaint I've seen is that the fans are loud, is it possible to take the fans out and replace them with similar better made PC fans? For a mount I'll probably poke around...

I've found a few ways to mount it to the tank. Any idea on the on how high above the tank this should be? Any other lights in the range that has a few more features? Like ramp up/down brightness throughout the day.

Update, I have around 80 gallons of RODI water in my living room. I'll be mixing the salt today/tomorrow and picking the tank up on Sunday. Hopefully I can keep the water temp enough while setting the tank up so the fish aren't stuck in buckets for too long.

After doing more research and talking with some friends I did make my first purchase towards moving to salt water. I ordered a BRS 4 stage RO/DI unit, now I just have to figure out where I'm going to put it.

Thanks for the tips, I'll have to do some research on sumps. It does look like the turnover rate in a salt is a bit higher than fresh so I might need extra filtration. Instead of adding a canister like I would do for a freshwater tank I can add a sump instead.
