- Started with 120G freshwater system at age 11 with rainbow trout, crawfish and native plants from the stream. Graduated to south American Chichlids and then started breeding African Chiclids by mistake. Finally moved to saltwater once I had the money (will never go back to freshwater) starting with a 55G reef tank. I was the lucky winner at the MACNA convention in Chicago 2007 to win a 120G oceanic reef system which I still maintain today. Today I construct and maintain saltwater systems for residential and commercial establishments (best job in the world) for a small side business, working with a private collector out of Florida my live rock is never out of the water more than 6 hours which is great since I'm always finding new organisms that I've never seen before in my own established tank.
