Ah, I see. Well, I wish you luck with your other fish. Hope everything goes okay from now on!

    Not sure what happened! Help!

Wait, you had mollies in a tank without a heater? Mollies are tropical fish, they need a heater. I mean, you could have them without a heater for the tank, but you have to keep the room they're in super warm for them. That's what I'm having to do, since I'm cycling a new tank for them but I only...

    Not sure what happened! Help!

Honestly, always go with your gut instinct. You will almost always have a better idea of what the illness is and (if you've read up on it) how to treat it. Purely bc you're familiar with the fish and their normal, healthy behaviour. For example, a few weeks ago one of my favourite mollies...

    Not sure what happened! Help!

Oh no! Who told you that? If there's sickness in the tank frequent water changes are best. Small and frequent. Large water changes will shock the fish and make the situation worse. I don't know how big your tank is, but i'd say maybe at least 2 PWC per week when a sickness is present, and once a...

    Not sure what happened! Help!

Hi, i'm assuming Bono is the one who looks like he is bleeding? I can't really tell much from the photo, but it looks as though he has red streaks in his tail? Correct me if i'm wrong. Red streaks are caused by poor water quality; high ammonia or nitrates in the water. This would also explain...

    Molly fish - URGENT!

You know, I'd thought she was looking a little skinny a few weeks ago, but she was still happily swimming around and eating regularly so I didn't think much of it. I think she was quite skinny when I bought her, so I probably just have a really bad eye for which fish are the healthiest. Also, I...

    Molly fish - URGENT!

I have a 20L tank which I am fully aware is not big enough for mollies. It has 2 molly fish, 3 super small baby platys and one super small baby bristlenose catfish. I am waiting on a delivery of a 80L tank and a filter. Feeding Fish Science tropical granular food, but fed Hikari micro pellets...

    Platy

Do the white patches look fuzzy or like a kind of growth? If not, it may just be that your fish is changing colour. Most fish do this as they start to get older. For example, my Black Moor goldfish is starting to turn bronze in the stomach/gills region.

Try not to go overboard with the meds. It will do more harm than good.

OH, just seen the bit about columnaris. What size was your tank and how many fish were in it?

sick fish quarantine - pregnant guppy

Oh god, i'm so sorry. Are all of your fish dead now then? If so, i wouldn't let this discourage you. You seem to have done everything possible for these fish. Also, are you certain all these fish can be housed together? I was thinking maybe having the wrong types of fish in one tank may have...

    Ich

I'm so sorry.. I haven't heard of ich affecting and killing fish this quickly before. Also just did a little bit of research, and apparently tiger barbs shouldn't be housed with mollies. Or really anything but their own species. Barbs are known for being quite aggressive. I'd recommend taking...

Sick goldfish - red streaks in tail and slight swelling

Apologies for not keeping in touch. Have been seriously slacking in the ways of checking my emails. How is your goldfish? (I think he needs a name tbh :) ) Do water changes whenever you're able to, as long as they are frequent. Your goldfish will be okay in the current tank for now, he shouldn't...

sick fish quarantine - pregnant guppy

How are they doing? Sorry i haven't responded in a while, i haven't been keeping up with emails. I find sick fish are usually glad to be quarantined, other fish can be a pain when they're feeling sick and might just stress them out more.

    Colombians sick

What is the actual issue with the fish? Are they acting odd, are they not eating, is there some physically issues? You need to provide people with more info to go on.
