    If you have any cycled media that you can take from another tank...that would help knock down the ammonia much quicker. Other than that, just try to be patient and let things work themselves out. The water will clear on its own, make sure your filtration isn’t causing the soil to be continually...

    You may have gotten a little carried away...but we all do sometimes. My concern would be when your new fish gain a little more size, will your filtration be able to handle the bio load. You might want to try adding more filtration now in order to keep things manageable later. Just a thought...

    I agree, try to return the tiger barb, however the pleco is the bigger issue here.... plecos produce a very large amount of waste which will foul your water very quickly. Also, the pleco will not grow to its full potential in such a small tank, its growth will be slowed and stunted. Keep in mind...

    I agree.. sounds like you may have gotten a sick fish from your lfs, check your water perameters, and temp...other than that you should be good...also it can sometimes take longer than a month for a tank to cycle, so be sure you're cycled before adding fish. Good luck.
